Siam Kraft Industries and Thai Cane Paper, part of the Siam Cement Group, have just gone live with I-Plan Supply and I-Plan Production modules to enable them to create profit optimised production schedules for their 9 paper machines operating across 4 production sites in Thailand.
Trading Science has been retained to manage the supply chain consultancy on a global re-engineering project. One of the top 10 companies globally is re-engineering its order-to-cash process using SAP. Trading Science consultants have been retained to provide expertise in this project, which involves multiple partners. As well as providing a single consistent business process framework for the extended enterprise, significant operational improvements and cost savings will be realised.
Korsnäs AB, premium packaging materials producer, has selected I-Plan supply chain optimisation software from Trading Science. I-Plan will be implemented with Tieto TIPS system to provide a paper-industry specific solution for Korsnäs supply chain planning and execution needs. Implementation work has started to deliver the solution over the next year. Once the solution is in place, Korsnäs will be able to better service and support its customers while improving its internal efficiency.
Trading Science has signed an agreement with Cansun Technology to market its services and solutions in China. Cansun Technology is a new venture using expertise in the Chinese market from Cansun pulp trading specialists and supply chain experts who have worked in the paper industry in Asia for many years. Cansun employees have extensive knowledge of the Chinese market and the benefits that supply chain planning and optimisation can bring to major companies.
Supply Chain Standard magazine has announced that Mondi Busines Paper has won the European Supply Chain Excellence Award 2008 in the Aerospace, Defence and Industrial category. Mondi also came second overall. In a category dominated by high scoring German companies, Mondi was onsidered by the judges to be the only company that demonstrated it had a truly end-to-end solution. The company has successfully completed a supply chain transformation, starting with a new and well-devised supply chain strategy.
Siam Kraft Industries Company is now live with Real-Time Order Promising (ATP/CTP) from Trading Science’s I-Plan suite of supply chain planning and optimisation tools.
SKIC has extended the use of I-Plan from Trading Science into inventory replenishment and ATP/CTP functions. These are linked to the SAP R/3 system for accounting and master data functions. I-Plan’s Inventory Replenishment module calculates requirements from forecasts and stock snapshots before synchronising the replenishment orders with the latest production schedules. Although inventory levels are relatively low, having a buffer of inventory allows SKIC to lengthen its production runs without compromising their highly responsive customer service standards.
Trading Science is pleased to announce a follow-up project and expansion upon the successful Siam Kraft Industry Company (SKIC) supply chain project completed in 2007. The supply chain solution scope will be extended to include Thai Cane Paper (TCP), part of the Siam Cement Group (SCG), Thailand’s largest industrial conglomerate and parent company of SKIC. The I-Plan modules to be implemented at TCP include Forecasting, Master Planning, Block Scheduling, Replenishment and ATP/CTP. The system will be integrated with SAP ERP and the mills’ MES system.
